The physical model of the speaker is to open a hole in an infinite rigid baffle and install the speaker unit, so that the sound signals on the front and back of the speaker unit will not form a loop, resulting in a sound wave loop.

But in actual use, it is impossible for the speaker to be infinitely large. Therefore, people use baffles to form a closed space behind the speaker unit to ensure the frontal transmission of sound waves.

Speaker cabinet principle

The ensuing problem: Due to the problem of atmospheric pressure after the speaker is sealed, the larger the speaker box, the more conducive to the reproduction of low-frequency sound. Therefore, the volume of the general speaker is a compromise calculated based on the speaker size of the mid-bass unit.

However, many environments still do not allow too large cabinets. In order to further reduce the volume, people have designed baffles, inverter tubes, and resonance chambers in the cabinets according to the characteristics of sound waves and the requirements for strengthening low-frequency sound wave playback. Enhance the sound signal of a certain wavelength in the low frequency band, and further reduce the influence of atmospheric pressure on the sound reproduction of the speaker.
